For those trying to conceive or for those desiring to plan or
postpone a pregnancy.
One of the most common statements we hear from people when we start
talking about fertility education, is "Why didn't anyone ever tell
us this stuff about our bodies?!!" A great place to start in answering
many questions about our bodies and our fertility is a book called
Taking
Charge of Your Fertility
by Toni Weschler. It's full of practical information and suggestions
for many of the common questions and frustrations surrounding fertility.
Are you unhappy with your current
method of birth control? Or are you demoralized by your quest
to have a baby? Do you also experience confusing signs and symptoms
at various times in your cycle, but are frustrated by a lack of
simple explanations?
The self-knowledge available from Fertility Awareness is a valuable
resource for all kinds of personal decision-making. Perhaps most
important, it encourages women to value and trust knowledge provided
by their own bodies.
from Taking Charge of Your Fertility
For many, additional knowledge, trust and support may be all that
is needed in this area. However, we also recognize that some do face
additional challenges and struggles. We recognize that this is a very
personal area and often a difficult time for many people. Our desire
is to encourage you on this path through education, support and even
personal experience. Many of our Xylem participants have had challenges,
losses and victories in this area. We are also happy to share with
you our referral list for those in need of additional infertility
counseling.
When considering the idea of planning your family or postponing
a pregnancy, we recommend The
Art of Natural Family Planning
by John and Sheila Kippley and Open
Embrace: A Protestant Couple Rethinks Contraception
by Sam and Bethany Torode. Again, trust that you will seek him on
the path that is best for you and your family.
