Xylem Doulas
Serving the Christian community in the greater Denver area.
Xylem provides a network of doula support consisting of all Christian
Doulas who have have affirmed their Christian belief and signed our
Statement of Faith.
We believe our role is to help clients and
their partners make educated decisions and then support them in
those decisions. In addition, we believe that childbirth is not
only a physical experience but also a spiritual and emotional experience.
And, although we love to support people of all faiths in their spiritual
journey of childbirth, we are passionate about helping those who
follow Christ to incorporate that into their birth experience.
All doulas are highly educated and trained and are either certified or are working toward certification
with various organizations (DONA www.dona.org,
CAPPA www.cappa.net,
ALACE www.alace.org).
Together, we have experience with Homebirth, Water Birth, Natural
and Medicated Hospital birth, C-Sections, VBACs and Multiples.
Our role changes to support each client individually, providing
a complimentary role to Dad's involvement and importance. Fathers
have a very important role in this process and experience their
own feelings and sometimes, anxiety about birth. Our role in this
area is to empower dads to support their partners effectively and
at the same time have the freedom to embrace their own birth experience.
We believe that no woman should labor alone and are honored to
attend as the primary support person as well.
We are happy to meet with you and further discuss the benefits
of having a doula at your birth and how we can customize our role
and choose a doula to meet the needs of your family.
